My first introduction to New Hanover County Courts was in Judge Rebecca Blackmore's Courtroom in early 2011:
Rebecca Blackmore's husband had DIVORCED HER after SHE went completely addicted to WINE after their ONLY CHILD was killed by a drunk driver -- even switching to box wine, which her trash collectors (really, I met them), said was because the number of bottles was embarrassing the neighborhood.
She has often been DRUNK IN COURT, and was known as "The Hanging Judge" because she "threw the book" at anyone with any alcohol or drug offence -- no matter how minor.
When I was brought up on the false charge of "Cyber Stalking" -- due to blogging about all the Narco-Trafficking I'd witnessed in First Presbyterian-associated Costello's (gay) Piano Bar, I asked for a Public Defender.
Judge Blackmore -- playing to her Christian Audience in the Courtroom -- said to me,
"WHAT . . . you are a KENAN, and I NEVER HEARD OF A KENAN who didnt have at least four or five TRUST FUNDS in his back pocket!!!"
This brought the WHOLE COURTROOM to raucous laughter, deriding me -- which she had DELIBERATELY DONE, she being a DEVOUT CHRISTIAN.
I DOUBT that Judge Jeffery Evan Noecker will be THIS CHRISTIAN on Monday.
